The Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha (UoS), Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, administered the oath of office to the newly elected members of the University’s first-ever Alumni Association during a prestigious ceremony held at the main campus.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas said that an oath is a sacred trust that requires utmost dedication, integrity, and transparency. He emphasized the vital role alumni play in the sustainable development of higher education institutions, noting that graduates serve as true ambassadors who strengthen an institution’s reputation and help address contemporary academic challenges.
Highlighting the progress made in alumni engagement, the Vice Chancellor shared that when he assumed office, the number of registered alumni stood at around 5,000. Under his leadership, the figure has increased to more than 50,000, while the total number of graduates from the University of Sargodha now exceeds 500,000.
Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas also announced the allocation of a dedicated office for the Alumni Association along with the provision of necessary administrative resources. He expressed hope that the association would continue to expand its membership in the coming years and bring further innovation and improvement to the Alumni Office.
The newly elected office bearers, including President Liaqat Ali, Vice President Fayyaz Minhas, General Secretary Khalid Mahmood, Joint Secretary Ansar Abbas, and Information Secretary Atiq-ur-Rehman, thanked the university administration, particularly the Vice Chancellor, for their support and assured their full cooperation for the progress and development of the institution.
The ceremony also featured remarks from Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan and other distinguished executive members, including Waqar Ahmed, Muhammad Anwar, Syed Nasir Abbas Bukhari, Dr. Aima Iram Batool, Farrukh Abbas, Hasnain Ashraf, and Dr. Rafiullah.
