Sargodha: November 22, 2023 - The Directorate of Students Affairs, University of Sargodha (UoS) organized an interactive session titled "The Society, the State and the Nationhood in the 21st Century’’ with the collaboration of the Department of English, Politics & IR and Communication & Media Studies on Wednesday.

The event featured esteemed guest speaker Brigadier (Retd.) Tahir Mehmood, a distinguished figure renowned for his contributions as an author, and chief editor of four distinct monthly magazines.

He provided insight into the intricate relationship between society, the state, and the concept of nationhood within the context of Pakistan.

He briefly explained the major challenges that the Pakistani nation faces in the 21st century, including globalization, technological progress, and the changing landscape of international relations, emphasized the significance of Pakistan's potential, and said the ‘’future belongs to the youth ’’.

During his captivating address, Tahir Mehmood also delivered a detailed talk on the evolution of the modern state and the importance of nationhood and addressed various myths that target nationhood.

The Vice Chancellor UoS, Prof.Qaisar Abbas expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guest and highlighted the university's commitment to fostering an environment that nurtures technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation among students.

 He also underscored the pivotal role of educational institutions in fostering national progress. 

The event also featured an engaging question-and-answer (Q&A) session, where students had the opportunity to interact in thought-provoking discussions and took a deep interest in it.
