The Department of Information Technology, University of Sargodha, organized a remarkable Top IT Project Exhibition featuring final-year students’ capstone projects in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Cyber Security. The event served as a platform to bridge the gap between academia and industry, promoting innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning among emerging IT professionals.
The exhibition displayed a diverse range of cutting-edge projects, including a Blind Guide System for visually impaired individuals, a Medi-Robot to assist patients in healthcare settings, an AR-based 3D Modeling Application for interior design, a Smart Livestock Care Mobile App, and an AI-powered Notes Assistant. Projects also included AI-driven solutions for crop health monitoring, pest control, and fruit maturity assessment, showcasing the students’ focus on solving real-world problems through technology.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, who was accompanied by leading figures from the IT industry, including CEOs of renowned software houses and startups. Mr. Salman Paracha, Incharge of Waheed Wian Incubation Center, Prof. Dr. Hikmat Ullah Khan, Chairman of the Department of Information Technology, along with project advisors Dr. Muhammad Kaleem, Mr. Muhammad Mazhar Iqbal, Mr. Waseem Ahmad, Dr. Bushra Jameel, Dr. Humaira Ijaz, and Mr. Shafaan Khaliq, were also present to witness the students' achievements.
In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas commended the students for their technical brilliance and encouraged them to remain committed to innovation and lifelong learning. He emphasized the vital role of emerging technologies such as AI in shaping the future of industries and underscored the importance of integrating such technologies into both academic curricula and national development agendas.
Prof. Dr. Hikmat Ullah Khan also praised the dedication and hard work of the students, reiterating the University’s commitment to fostering practical learning environments that equip graduates with industry-relevant skills.
The exhibition was widely appreciated by both academic and industry participants and was seen as a milestone in promoting student-led innovation at the University of Sargodha.
