UOS Students Excel at Chinese Bridge 2025, Promoting Cultural Diplomacy

Students from the University of Sargodha (UOS) have brought honor to the Nation by securing top positions in the prestigious “All Pakistan Chinese Bridge Competition 2025,” organized by the Chinese Language and Education Center, Beijing. Their stellar performance has not only showcased their academic brilliance but also highlighted the power of cultural diplomacy in strengthening Pakistan-China ties.

Held online in two phases, the competition attracted participants from Confucius Institutes across Pakistani universities. The first phase featured a speech contest centered on the theme “One World, One Family,” while the second phase allowed participants to display their talent in traditional Chinese arts such as music, calligraphy, painting, and Tai Chi.

Ayesha Rafiqat, a student at the Confucius Institute, University of Sargodha, emerged as one of the top performers, securing third place in both the speech and music competitions. Her remarkable achievement stands as a symbol of the linguistic and artistic excellence being cultivated at UOS.

In addition, students Lab and Jaweria Iqbal received certificates of appreciation and prizes for their outstanding contributions, adding further prestige to the university's name.

Notably, UOS TV, the university’s dynamic media team, was also recognized with a cash prize for its instrumental role in promoting the event and highlighting the students’ accomplishments.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha expressed immense pride and said that the university is proud of its students who have not only learned the Chinese language and culture but also showcased their talents on an international platform. He added that the University of Sargodha will continue to organize such academic and cultural programs to further strengthen Pakistan-China relations.

Echoing this sentiment, the Director of the Confucius Institute said that this achievement reflects their mission to bring both nations closer through language and culture. He noted that the dedication and creativity demonstrated by the students are truly commendable.
