The Department of Urdu Language and Literature at the University of Sargodha organized a one-day international seminar on “Enlightenment and Coexistence in Urdu Literature."
The event aimed to explore the role of Urdu literature in promoting harmony, tolerance, and intellectual growth.
The chief guest was the renowned poet and critic Dr. Syed Taqi Abidi from Canada. The chairman of the Department of Urdu Language and Literature, Prof. Dr. Naseem Abbas Ahmar, Dr. Sumaira Ijaz, Dr. Sajid Javed, Amir Sohail, faculty members, and a large number of students attend this event.
Dr. Abidi highlighted Urdu literature's role in fostering coexistence and mutual respect. He also discussed Allama Iqbal's significant contributions, emphasizing how Iqbal’s philosophy inspires intellectual enlightenment and harmony. Furthermore, Dr. Abidi reflected on Urdu's origin as a unifying language that embodies the diversity of South Asia’s culture.
