Celebrations on 10th CPEC anniversary conclude

A week-long celebrations, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) concluded on Thursday at University of Sargodha (UoS). 

The celebrations were jointly organized by the Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS), Confucius Institute UoS, Department of Politics and International Relations, and Institute of Art & Design.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas was the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony held at MFKNBS Hall, UoS.  The Vice Chancellor distributed cash prizes and certificates among the top position holders who took part in events including essay writing, a Chinese arts and crafts exhibition, a quiz competition, documentary contests, and an art exhibition.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas expressed his appreciation for the students participating in the competitions to deepen their understanding of Pakistan-China relations.

He emphasized the importance of equal benefits from the CPEC project and proposed plans for exports and educational collaboration with China. He cited the example of establishing a citrus processing unit in Sargodha for enhanced exports. Furthermore, he highlighted the unique educational model where students receive practical education in China, contributing to a successful academic project.

The director of PICS Dr. Fazal Ur Rahman emphasized the significance of raising awareness among students about the importance of Pakistan and China relations. He highlighted how these competitions offer students valuable opportunities to delve into aspects of Pak-China relations and CPEC. Moreover, he emphasized that these initiatives serve as a catalyst, inspiring students to actively engage in global initiatives.
