Syndicate

The 76th (4/2026) meeting of the Syndicate, University of Sargodha, was held on 28.08.2026 in the committee room of the Multipurpose Halls, University of Sargodha. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Vice Chancellor and was attended by Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmed Khan, Chairperson, Punjab Higher Education Commission, Lahore, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Former Vice Chancellor / DG, National Language Promotion Department, Islamabad (Nominee of Chairman, HEC, Islamabad), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, Vice-Chancellor, Government College University, Lahore, Mr. Abbas Haider, Chairperson, BISE, Sargodha, Ms. Zahida Azhar, Additional Secretary (Universities), Higher Education Department, Government of the Punjab, Lahore, Mr. Shahid Imtiaz, Director (Advisory Wing), Law & Parliamentary Affairs Department, Government of the Punjab, Lahore, Ms. Rafia Qayyum, Deputy Secretary (Education), Finance Department, Government of the Punjab, Lahore, Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Pro-Vice Chancellor / Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr. Aamir Ali, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Azhar Abbas, Principal, Govt. Ambala Muslim Graduate College, Sargodha and Prof. Dr. Safana Shaheen, Principal, Govt. Graduate College for Women, Chandni Chowk, Sargodha. 

At the outset, the Vice Chancellor gave a detailed presentation to the honourable members about the milestones achieved and initiatives taken by him to raise the academic and research profile of the University and to improve the administrative efficiency and financial health of the University during his four-year tenure as Vice Chancellor. The honourable members commended the contributions of the Vice Chancellor for the uplift of the University and paid tribute to him on his remarkable services for the institution. 

Afterwards, the Syndicate, after thorough deliberations, approved the recommendations of the Academic Council, granted provisional affiliation to colleges, endorsed the action taken by the Vice Chancellor regarding the appointment of chairpersons of academic departments and confirmation of service of faculty members and officers, besides taking other administrative decisions.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Zahida Azhar, Additional Secretary (Universities), nominee of the Secretary, Higher Education Department, presented a shield and bouquet to Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, in recognition of his services as Vice Chancellor/Chairman Syndicate, University of Sargodha.
