The Academic Branch is responsible for the smooth conduct of academic activities. The main functions of the branch are as under:​
- Conducting various meetings of University bodies including Syndicate, Academic Council, Advanced Studies and Research Board, Board of Faculties, Board of Studies, Deans Committee and meetings of Chairmen/In-charges/Administrative Heads of the University
- Ensuring arrangements of Convocation and other academic events of the University
- Issuing English Proficiency Certificates and various notifications related to academic matters, the appointment of Deans, Chairmen/In-charges of the departments and Hostel Administration
- (Warden, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent)
- Maintaining the record of academic programs’ curriculum offered in the University
- Corresponding academic matters with the Higher Education Commission, Governor’s Secretariat and Government of Punjab
