The Department of History and Pakistan Studies was established in 1962 in erstwhile DeMontmorency College. We are currently part of Faculty of Social Sciences at University of Sargodha. It offers teaching and research in History and Pakistan Studies and serves students, scholars, and professionals interested in areas of History and Pakistan Studies.Our vision is to be a leading department in teaching and research in the disciplines of History and Pakistan Studies. Our mission is to deliver rigorous, practice-oriented education, produce meaningful research, and develop graduates who are skilled, ethical, and prepared for the demands of academia and other professions. The department offers eight programs: BS in History, BS in Pakistan Studies, MPhil in History, MPhil in Pakistan Studies, PhD in History and PhD in Pakistan Studies. The curriculum combines strong theoretical foundations with practical training, and it is reviewed regularly in line with national standards and market needs. Admission requirements for each program are available at our web page.Teaching is delivered by 08 faculty members, including 06 PhD holders, who are active researchers and experienced practitioners. Students learn in libraries, laboratories, studio, computer labs, and field settings equipped with advanced equipment, and they have access to library resources, digital databases, and learning support.In recent years, the department has published research in recognized journals, hosted workshops and held conferences. Students take part in internships, projects, competitions, seminars, and community outreach, which help them apply what they learn beyond the classroom. Looking ahead, we are committed to modernizing facilities, expanding research, building industry partnerships.Our graduates work in both public and private sectors, continue to higher studies at leading national and international institutions, and contribute to their fields as professionals, researchers, and leaders.
