Sargodha October 11, 2024. The Chairman of the Sugarcane Research and Development Board Punjab, Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf, along with his delegation, visited the UoS. The visit aimed to attend the annual meeting of the Research Board and discuss new reforms in agriculture and sugarcane production, enhance exports, and introduce new sugarcane varieties to the market.

Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin briefed the chairman that the UoS has always been at the forefront of academic and research excellence. He emphasized the recent university achievements, including the solar energy project, pharmaceutical unit, incubation center, cafeterias, and state-of-the-art gymnasiums. Furthermore, he said our team has been working diligently on various innovative research projects under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, vice chancellor of the UoS.

During the visit, Mr. Zaka Ashraf also applauded the university's recent achievements in various fields, including its contribution to enhancing agricultural productivity, developing sustainable farming methods, and producing research that impacts the broader farming community. He commented, "The University of Sargodha is leading the way in agricultural reforms. Its research has the potential to transform not just the sugarcane industry but the entire agricultural landscape’’.

Prof. Dr. Aamir Ali emphasized the importance of collaborative research between universities and industries. He said such partnerships are crucial for ensuring that our agricultural advancements are practical and beneficial to farmers and the overall economy.
