Overview

Overview The Department of Punjabi Language, Literature and Culture at the University of Sargodha has evolved through a progressive academic journey. Originally established in 2002 as part of the Department of Oriental Languages—comprising Arabic, Punjabi, and Persian—it gained its individual identity as a full-fledged department in 2013. Following a brief incorporation under the Department of Urdu and Oriental Languages in 2017, it attained its current standalone status as Department of Punjabi Language, Literature and Culture in 2022. Today, the department offers dynamic academic programs, including BS Punjabi and BS Punjabi (5th-Semester Intake). Demonstrating exceptional academic standards, our graduates secured top positions in both merit and seat allocation during the PPSC lectureship recruitment in 2022. This milestone builds upon a rich tradition of excellence, which includes hosting a landmark international conference on "Punjab: History, Literature, and Culture" in 2019.
