Umair Jaswal & Takatak set the stage ablaze
Umair Jaswal set the stage ablaze on Thursday night [December 5] with a cosmic performance of “Sammi Meri Waar” and several other signature tracks from his rocking playlist.
Sporting a badged leather jacket, the multi-talented Umair was performing at a live rock concert, organized by Sargodha University in the evening of its 7th Convocation.
Umair, who has enthralled thousands in packed stadiums in megacities all over the world, is a unique vocal powerhouse and his discography is overwhelmingly energetic. He is famous for his acclaimed acts in several seasons of Coke Studio where he performed tracks as Charkha Nolakha, Khaki Banda, Khayaal, Sammi Meri Waar and Dam Mast Qalandar.
At the concert, Umair was accompanied by extremely talented musician Ali Suhail and Zain Peerzada on Guitars, Isa Najam on Bass Guitar and Yusuf Ramay on Drums. These musicians are also a part of critically acclaimed progressive djent rock instrumental band, known as Takatak.
Prior to Umair’s performance, students of the SU Music Society including Hasan Arif and Mohsin performed onstage the reprised and balled versions of classical melodies.
The charged crowd was flabbergasted when girl student guitarists named Umme Kalsoom and Aqsa Naeem came on stage and held the audience spellbound.
The event also featured the live guitar instrumental performance by Assad Gillani and Sam Samar which mesmerized the audience and earned a great deal of applause.
