Young geniuses attract large crowd through innovative ideas at Media Expo 2019
Two-day Media Expo concluded at University of Sargodha on May 3, 2019. Young geniuses took different path to prove them by showcasing their unique and creative ideas through films, documentaries, public relation and advertisement campaigns, writing, and editing and presentation skills.
The Expo-2019 organized by the Department of Communication and Media Studies, University of Sargodha was aimed at providing a platform for the sharpest minds to experiment and innovate, and come up with something extra ordinary work.
Interesting and impressive innovative ideas by students of various media specializations like Print Media, Electronic Media and Public Relation and Advertisement showcased more than 100 short films, 50 documentaries, 20 public relation and advertising projects, newspapers, and magazines during two days expo.
The visitors, who belonged to different walks of life, welcomed the holding of the event and said they consulted stallholders on marketing strategies, advertising campaigns and content writing and got really valuable information and guidance.
The students briefed the visitors about the salient features and utility of the displayed projects and products in daily life. “Such exhibitions must be arranged to encourage the creative students so that they can better utilize their energies toward such constructive purposes and get recognitions,” Aqsa Rana, a student at a stall said.
The visitors deliberated that event provided vast information regarding advertising and public relations campaigns, creative writing and presentation skills, short films and documentaries from which media industry should benefit from it. Such events could help bridging gap between the academia and the industry, they added.
Sher Afghan, a student of Media Studies said that the event help us in a great deal to highlight our innovative ideas, using sharpest mind as most of the educational institutions focused on theory.
Muhammad Safdar appreciated the efforts of his Department and all the teachers who took keen interest in motivating the students to participate in this expo.
In print media category, on the basis of its layout and content, the English newspaper, ‘The News Breeze’ stood first, for Urdu newspaper category ‘Campus News’ announced as second and in magazine category ‘University Vibes’ was declared third.
An advertising campaign and product ‘Shud Desi’ secured overall first position with the slogan of ‘Don’t Panic, Its Organic’ while ‘Doodh Coffee’ with the slogan of ‘Coffee ha’ and ‘The Bread Box’ under the slogan of ‘Healthy Brains with Healthy Grains’ was declared second and third.
In short film category, a film titled ‘Hunger’ was declared first, ‘No Excuse’ and ‘Qaboolhy’ stood second and third respectively.
At the end of two-day expo, Muhammad Aslam Naveed, Mayor Sargodha distributed cash prizes, shields and certificates among the position holders and the participants.
